Panhongkongaia

Every year, the citizens of Athens would be excited to join the Panathenaia and celebrate their city with sport and cultural events. For Hong Kong, we are proud to have established a similar tradition.

Once a year during winter, all of Hong Kong’s (and beyond) best playwrights gather together for a famed competition of writing fake Ancient Greek theatre plays. The first Panhongkongaia was held in 2021 in Sai Kung, Hong Kong.

Modern Panhongkongaias (the ones after 2021) have been all held online. To appease the Gods and the souls of Ancient playwrights as well as Euripide’s mom, a hecatomb is sacrificed on the morning of each event.

The 4th PanHongKongAia will be held online on Sunday, 16th of Feburary 2025 at 10am EST / 3pm GMT / 11pm HKT.
All interested audience and playwrights can join at this time via Zoom (passcode 42025). Please prepare sacrifical animals and wine well before the event.
